Faith in the Secret History

What we believe we understand about our own soul is, after all, only a fleeting reflection of what will remain God's secret until the day all will be made manifest. My great joy consists in the hope of that future clarity. Faith in the secret history must always strengthen us when what we actually perceive about ourselves or about others might discourage us.
Edith Stein

The windows in the chapel at Sarah's...an Oasis for Women, are such a rich find for a photographer. Arrayed all along the south wall, they change and glow marvelously at different times of day and seasons of the year. Their real beauty is enhanced by their marks and flaws and by what can be seen dimly through them. Here's how some of them looked in late afternoon on May 21, 2008:

Today I'm grateful for: family and friends; beautiful spring days; life in community; time to rest, pray, read, think and create.
Holding in prayer today: Sisters preparing to leave for ministry in Uganda; some newly married friends; people made homeless by predatory lending practices; people who engage in predatory lending: that their consciences may be awakened; suffering people in Burma and China; a difficult relationship; SG, MK, PC, JS, MB, JK and others in rough times; JC looking for work, Marilyn on her 57th birthday.

Wow, I can see why you would love these. And I so appreciate the way you have turned something "real" into the look of abstraction.
